Partnering With Learning Courage for the RMPC

In this year’s Risk Management Premium Credit (RMPC) program, your organization may complete a sexual misconduct risk assessment through Learning Courage.

What Is Learning Courage?

Learning Courage is a nonprofit membership organization that partners with K-12 independent day and boarding schools and youth-serving organizations nationwide to reduce incidents, minimize harm and maximize healing from sexual abuse and misconduct. Learning Courage seeks to help stop sexual abuse and misconduct by working with organizations and their leaders to help effect long-standing, institutional change. It works to make communities safer by ensuring personnel are well-educated, trained and informed in sexual abuse and misconduct prevention, response and healing practices.

How Does Their Risk Assessment Work?

The assessment process begins when an organization establishes membership with Learning Courage. A regional representative reaches out to schedule a site visit for the assessment. Learning Courage spends two or three days on location examining policies and procedures; culture and climate; prevention programs; employee hiring, evaluation, and training; and more. Learning Courage then generates a comprehensive report highlighting strengths and opportunities in sexual misconduct prevention. Finally, they help create a three-year action plan and provide ongoing support and accountability.

There is a cost involved for all Learning Courage services. In addition to the risk assessment and action plan, Learning Courage provides other services. Visit the Learning Courage Member Page for more information, including member pricing and a complete list of services.

How to Participate

This is a limited opportunity based on space availability for the 2024-25 RMPC program (for UE members renewing between May 1, 2024, and April 30, 2025).

To select the Learning Courage sexual misconduct risk assessment, go to your RMPC program Intake Form, select Sexual Misconduct, and then select the Learning Courage option.

After Learning Courage completes its risk assessment, ask Learning Courage for an attestation for the RMPC program. We only need the attestation to award the credit. Your organization doesn’t need to upload the assessment results.

Work directly with Learning Courage on implementation. Contact it early in your policy year and work with it directly to ensure you complete the assessment before the final RMPC program deadline.
