United Educators Appoints Tish King Head of Corporate Communications
Bethesda, Md., March 21, 2024 — United Educators (UE) insurance named Letitia “Tish” King as Head of Corporate Communications.
“Tish is a transformational leader whose strategic thinking and exceptional skills impressed me from the day I started at UE,” said Rick Mills, UE’s President and CEO. “Having Tish in this groundbreaking role reflects the importance of elevating our communications for our future success.”
As a participant in executive leadership team meetings, Tish will provide advice and counsel, support unified internal and external communications, and work across departments to advance the company’s mission serving K-12 schools, colleges, and universities.
Tish joined UE in May 2021 as Director of Communications after an extensive career as a nonprofit leader and communications expert working for media, nonprofit, and government organizations. Previously she was Senior Vice President for Communications at the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. Prior to that, Tish served as spokesperson and Director of the Office of Public Affairs for the U.S. Agency for Global Media (USAGM), the independent agency that oversees all U.S. government-funded international broadcasting.
Before that, Tish was Acting Staff Director for the Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board, a presidentially appointed board overseeing this prestigious international exchange program.
She completed her master’s at Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service and her bachelor’s at Colgate University.
