AM Best Awards A (Excellent) Rating to United Educators for 26th Consecutive Year
Bethesda, Md., Aug. 8 — United Educators Insurance (UE), a reciprocal risk retention group dedicated to supporting K-12 schools, colleges, and universities, once again received an A (Excellent) financial strength rating from AM Best.
UE has received the rating every year since 1998 despite drastically increasing claims costs in recent years caused by “legal system abuse” — factors contributing to the systemic increasing cost of litigation above general economic inflation.
AM Best noted UE’s “very strong” balance sheet and said UE’s business profile is favorable “due to the company’s leading market position and diversification of risk by region and type of institution.” The credit rating affirmed UE’s appropriate enterprise risk management “with both quantitative and qualitative methods for risk monitoring.”
“United Educators’ unmatched knowledge of education is the foundation of our financial strength,” said Sean Barnes, UE’s Chief Financial Officer.
